So here is my first attempt at blogging that doesn't involve highly personal stories and/or unproductive bitching. No, the bitching on this blog will be highly productive as I offer my raconteur and political commentary skills up for your reading pleasure. All efforts will be made to protect the names of the innocent as well as the guilty. No one, however, will be spared--whether I've fucked you in the ass or seen a baby come out your vagina-- when someday Seal Press publishes my creative non-fiction book.

I do have a new creative writing piece coming out in the newest edition of Mamaphiles. I wrote the piece and felt good about it, then faltered in submitting it until the fabulous China Martens convinced me to do so. The piece is very dark and confessional, maybe more so than I want of my writing out there. I tried to console my anxieties about the piece by telling myself that part of creative writing is putting yourself out there, and that Mamaphiles probably doesn't have a wide enough readership for people from my past to find it.
