Dan Savage says that when gay folks come out of the closet as adults, its ostensibly like being 15 years old all over again because you have the same level of social skills around relationships. The analogy is that you have to fumble through dating, sex and relationships the way that teenagers do--rather precariously and with a lot of awkwardness and anxiety. So this is me at 26, the single mom of an almost 6 year old. Despite having technically come out awhile ago, it was still as an adult. And I still have no skills when it comes to flirting, dating, etc. My best guess to knit a cute girl a hat.
